I have no idea, but it doesn't sound normal. I would go see a doctor to get proper diagnosis. It could be serious. I agree, I cannot believe you think it may be normal.

BTW - if you are not spotting, that's a good sign (if you want to be pregnant). No spotting means less chance of miscarriage.
If its a mirena, it is pretty common to have spotting. I spotted for 6 months straight and finally had it taken out because I could not deal with the constant spotting.
