The light staying on is an indication of low or no brake fluid in the fluid resevoir. We have just had this happen with our Honda Integra, following having work done of the trailing arms, which involved removing the wheels & disconnecting the brake lines. The break lines were not retightened correctly & the fluid had been leaking out. I am not a mechanic, so not sure if it is not a symtom of anything else...
The light comes on and goes off when you have 2 gallons of gas left & the light stays on when you are on your last gallon of gas.
Is the alternator actually working. It is possible to buy a new alternator that is defective.
disconect from batery, and if it stays off till next 10K milles its OK.
The SRS (supplemental restraint system) is your airbag system. The the should light up when you start your car and go away after a few seconds. If it stays on, there is a problem with the system. You should probably take it to a certified Honda mechanic or a Honda dealership
If a gas light stays on a 2000 Honda Accord the fuel sensor is malfunctioning. Replacement of the sensor is advised as the car will run of safe mode if the ECU believes it is low on gas.
If you are referring to the brake light then the brake light switch is stuck.
This certainly sounds like a faulty handbrake switch. This is located underneath the handbrake arm itself and if you remove the center console it is easily accessible. Just a case of replacing this. Before you do this though I would recommend you check your brake fluid level as some vehicles can use the same light for both.
If a 2000 Honda Accord gas light stays on the fuel sensor may be failing. Running a diagnostic tool will show if the fuel gauge sensor is malfunctioning.
check brake fluid
try distrubtor... maybe a bad ground.
The light is on because the alternator is not putting out the required voltage. Either the belt is broken, loose, or the alternator is defective.
