Virtually all homophobic Christians do not believe they are homophobic. They believe they are following their faith. They believe that they "love" gay people but not gay intimate behavior. They believe that the best way to show this love is to condemn gay people to a life of celibacy, and deny them certain basic civil rights.

Answer

Christianity isn't all about forgiveness and love... although it would be a nicer world if everyone, religious or not, adhered to such a philosophy.

If the "Christians" you're meeting are "homophobic" and "full of hate," however... it's an excellent possibility that THEY AREN'T CHRISTIAN at all!

Claiming to be something doesn't make it so. Claiming to know Jesus Christ doesn't mean HE KNOWS YOU! According to Him, He's going to surprise a lot of "professing Christians" in the Judgment, when He informs them that they have never met.

"Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?... And then I will profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY." (Matt.7:22-23)

But, then... everyone who has ever lived shall come before his Creator, Jesus Christ, and give account of himself for the works he has done in his life. They won't be judged according to their religious affiliation... but from what is written in The Bible.

Christians didn't write the Bible... Holy Spirit-inspired men recorded what they were commanded to write.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God..." (II Tim.3:16).

It's these "66 books" of the Bible that will be opened on Judgment Day to "measure" us all against what our Creator has commanded of His creation.

"If any man hear My Words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My Words, hath one that judgeth him: THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY." (John 12:47-48)

"...I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." (Rev.20:12)

Answer

True "Christians" aren't homophobic and full of hate. The "forgiveness and love" mentioned in the question should definitely be a hallmark of a true Christian's makeup. But God's Word, which all men should be living by, isn't about forgiving God's creation their sins if they have no intention of repenting of them and begin living by His Commandments.

At no time does God call His Commandments "suggestions" to live by.

God has given man the temporary right to CHOOSE whether or not he will obey his Creator... not the right to judge God. It was Satan who told man it was his right to decide for himself what is right and wrong. And that is what appeals to man's nature.

Rebellion to authority. Selfishness... uncaring about others. And it was Satan, the god of this world, whom man "chose" to worship and obey.

A true Christian's job is not to be condemning anyone for their sins (he's got his own salvation to work out with his Creator). Yet, as opportunity comes to him... a Christian has God's full authority to "tell his fellowman what God's Word says." And I guarantee you, the world hates what God's Word says... because no man likes to be told HE'S WRONG!

God's inspired Word: "...is profitable for doctrine, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be (become) perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (II Tim.3:16-17)

The "natural man" is "carnal minded"... not "spirit minded." He doesn't like being rebuked, corrected or told he's wrong. He's naturally attuned to the self... not caring about the well-being of others. And of man's nature, God says:

"...the carnal mind is enmity (hostile) against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." (Rom.8:7)

Of homosexuality, God's Word says it's wrong. But it's not a true Christian's place to condemn another for making that choice... or any other choice that transgresses what God has commanded; for "sin is the transgression of the law" - I John 3-4.

If a Christian informs another of the sin they may be committing... he has done his job... and should move on and not browbeat the individual. The perceive "hate" that results from such an encounter should be on the part of the "carnal minded" person "being reproved" by God's Word. The carnal minded one is the one who "hates" God's Word.

Jesus says this to man and his personal "choices" to obey or disobey His laws:

"...Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be... blessed are they that do His Commandments..." (Rev.22:10-14).

No... if the "Christians" you are meeting are "intolerant homophobics and full of hate"... they aren't Christians.

Are gay people Christianphobic?

The Christian Holy Bible teaches that 'we were all made in God's image', thus true Christians are not homophobic only false Christians are homophobic.Christians comes in all sorts, some are tolerant while some aren't. The intolerant ones are Jehovah Witnesses who think they are better than everyone else and regard gays as being "disgusting and sinners". I have no respect for these people. What ever happened to equality?

Should tolerance of gay people be taught in school?

Yes, there isn't one rational reason to be intolerant of a gay person simply because he or she is gay. Even the Christian argument is invalid, because Christianity does not give permission to be intolerant of "sinners."

Which countries forbid Christianity?

It isn't that countries hate Christians. It is that some individuals hate Christians. And some countries are populated by extremely large percentages of people who are intolerant of Christians. This might make it seem like a country hates Christians. But the bottom line remains the same - hatred is a quality held or expressed by people, not by countries.

Do people who are Christianity tolerant their religion?

no it doesnt matter what race your from you can be lactose intolerant if you are japaneese but just because you are from japan that does not mean you have to be lactose intolerant

What does it mean to be H2O intolerant?

You cannot be h20 intolerant. h20 intolerant means that your body wouldn't break down the h20 particles when digesting. Just like lactose intolerant, when someone cannot break down the lactose particles. You can't be h20 intolerant because your body is 2/3 water. If you were such, you wouldn't be alive.

Are Christians tolerant of different religious groups?

AnswerTraditionally, Christians have been most intolerant of other religious beliefs and of any views that differred from their own. However, this has changed in modern times, and many Christians are now somewhat tolerant of other religious groups. In the past, as stated above, Christians have been somewhat intolerant. However, it is not necessarily the individual people that are at fault, nor are there flaws in their beliefs. Often times, the church had its own agenda and would preach and rule its herd accordingly. In the modern world, where diversity is as plentiful as nitrogen in the air, many have become less aggressive towards others and the central Roman Catholic church has actually issued formal apologies for many of its prior transgressions.
