It means the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system.
sounds like the fuel sensor is the problem
The problem could be a problem of lack of fuel and spark. May be your battery is low to start the car. It can also be because of a blown fuse or a bad fuel pump. Check the car well to identify the specific problem.
1991 probably doesn't have a crank sensor, it probably has a reference in the distributor.

how to replace a water pump on a 1991 acura legend
start with the basics is the battery dead ? if not its most likely a starter problem .if the starter is fried you need a garage
IF... the crank sensor was the problem then it might. However, it is unlikely. I agree, although they are known to crack, It usually results in a no start condition from what I have seen.
A 1991 Honda Accord could be overheating if the radiator has a leak. There could also be a problem with the head gasket.
I had this problem once with a 95 cavalier, it was the crank censor. But it could be the ingition module also. Its a game of trial and error.
A 1991 doesn't have a crank sensor, it only has a distributor pick up plate(cam sensor)
