If a 1992 Ford Explorer was overheating so you removed the radiator cap while running to test for problems and coolant started shooting out as the truck temperature increased what could this be?

More than likely you have a head gasket out. This cause's exhaust to come back up thru the radiator. Check your oil to make sure you are not getting any antifreeze in the oil. Prob. not but don't drive it till you get it fixed. Good luck.

It is heated to such a high temperature by going over the engine which is really hot and is part of the cooling system, the cold air goes over some part of the engine and comes out hot. It is part of the cooling system of a car, so therefor if your car has overheating problems turn the heater on.
