Even if they won't respond, you can always tell them you're sorry and ask if there is anything you can do to alleviate their disappointment in you or anger. While I do not know what you've done, the fact is he's ignoring you for a reason.
You must have really done something to make him mad enough to ignore you. Just tell them you're really sorry, etc. and leave it at that. If he continues to ignore you, then obviously this isn't something that a sorry will fix and you'll just have to move on. Maybe time away can fix it, but if after time has passed and he's still mad, then it's just best to leave him alone.
