Well, it depends on what type of person it is..
by saying he is "kind of" interested in you, he will avoid humiliation. But don't be flattered, because a guy who really truly liked you for who you are would just say what he felt because he thought you were worth it.
AnswerHe meant that he IS interested in you, but if you are not interested in him, then he can schlump away, and go tell his freinds he was just checking things out. That way, he did not expose himself to being rejected. Or, that's what it used to mean.Wiki User
