no, installing a new engine will not reset the odometer, it's against the law to reset odometers.
place key to position 1 and press botton left of odometer reading for 30 seconds then to position 2 and do same again then start engine! if this doesnt work then! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
With the engine off, press and hold the odometer reset pushbutton. Start the car. Keep finger on odometer reset pushbutton until "oil life" message starts flashing. Release the button.
Make sure odometer (ODO) is slelected (not trip odometer). Hold in odometer "reset" botton. Turn Igniotion to ON but do not start engine. Light will flash and go off. Turn Ignition OFF. Release "reset" button.
I had the same problem with a 1992 Park Avenue with the 3800 engine. I first replaced the electronic ignition but that did not fix the problem. I then replaced the crankshaft heat sensor. That fixed my problem.
you will replace the timing chain when mornig cold start becomes noisy Normally it will last the life of the engine, and is replaced when the engine is overhauled.
No, there isn't. If the engine runs too hot, you will start to hear squeaks and strange noises from the engine while driving, as the engine metal parts start to expand because of the excessive heat that will cause the engine's interior parts to have a more narrow space to move. This can burn the head gasket, which needs to be replaced or even worst, can eventually kill the engine, which then needs to it's parts replaced and re-tuned to work again.
If the engine is running, you will destroy the starter and possibly the flywheel/pressure plate.
On the 4.7 liter 2007 Tundra: Put the trip odometer to "A" Trip. Then with key OFF, push trip odometer button and hold it. Turn key to "ON" but do not start the engine. The Odometer should flash a series of dashes. That's it, you are reset.
It is possible that the dome light needs to be replaced on the Dodge Neon if the odometer is flashing the word fuse. If the car is also not starting this could be caused by a bad starter or bad battery.
most likely the electricity going to them
6.0 powerstroke had crank case sensor replaced by a dealership. 24hrs of runtime and engine refuses to start again. what happened to owning a reliable diesel??
Attempt to start the engine, it will probably fire then stop, with the security lamp on. Do not turn the switch off, let it stay on till the lamp goes out, (about 10 min) then attempt to start again. Once again it will fire then stop with the security lamp on. When you have went thru this procedure three or four times, and the new key code is learned, the engine will run.
