Shifting of the automatic transmission should be smooth. Try changing the transmission oil and filter. If you take it to be done make sure you specify that you want the pan dropped and the filter replaced, as many places suck out the old fluid and do not change the filter.
According to my owners manual for a 2002 Honda accord EX, it is scheduled to be done at 105,000 miles for either normal or severe conditions.
There are many reasons. Take it to a trans shop.
800 rpm + or - 50 according to workshop manual
A rebuilt transmission shoud perform exactly like a new one. Hesitation is not normal. Take it back to whoever rebuilt it.
The STI, which is a version of the Subaru Impreza WRX, only comes with manual transmission. The normal Impreza WRX does come in both versions, just not the STI model
I change my 2009 every 15000 miles The 2004 Honda Accord owners manual recommends changing it at 120,000 miles under normal service or every 60,000 miles under severe service. However I own a 2004 and the transmission in the 2003-04 Accord is not very reliable. Mine was replaced under warranty at 70,000 miles even though I changed the fluid at 60,000. Use the severe service interval and change the fluid every 60,000 miles and hope it holds up.
according to the owners manual it is a security device and perfectly normal. Mine delays as much as 5 seconds before engaging.
The owners manual claims "under normal operating conditions" you should never have to replace the tranny fluid. but what is normal operating conditions? i would change it out every 40-50 thousand miles.
Just follow your owners manual recommendation, most will recommend changing oil ever 7500 mile under normal driving condition_
The user manual recommends changing the oil and oil filter every 5000 miles under normal driving conditions.
The difference between manual and automatic slack adjusters is the way in which the brakes are adjusted. Automatic slack adjusters have sensors that do not let the brakes get too loose or too tight. Manual slack adjusters have to be adjusted by hand and can be set too tight in some cases.
5.3 seconds is the normal 0-60 mph time. I have seen a 5.2 quoted as well. This is with the manual transmission. The stock automatic is slower.
