They are called waffer's. The key will still fit in the hole and turn but a nail file or screwdriver can turn it as well with no waffers in it.

If you mean the door lock cylinder...remove the interior door panel. On the back of the door handle there are 2 10mm hex bolts. To the outer edge of the door there is an access hole. With an extension, remove the 10mm bolt that holds the lock cylinder and door handle together. Reach in and push the nylon retainer that holds the rod into the cylinder (yellow on driver side, white on passenger side) and remove it. A slight twist of the cylinder will remove it from the door handle. Replace in reverse order.

First remove your door panel and interior lock module modular with T30 screwdriver. Then proceed to remove the window mechanism and your interior panel. A T20 screwdriver to remove the interior panel and lock module from the inside of door. Disconnect your control module and replace with a new.
Take the door panel off, remove the moisture barrier and access it from the inside of the door. Should be a large metal clip holding it on to the door. Of course, you'll have to disconnect the lock rod from it too.
