Fifteenth Amendment-Shay
No amendment guarantees the right to vote. There are three that say who cannot be "denied" the right to vote, by reason of race, or gender, or age.The 15th amendment : men cannot be denied the right because of their raceThe 19th amendment : women cannot be denied the vote because of gender. The 26th amendment : those citizens 18 years of age cannot be denied the vote because of their age.
Yes. It said that the right to vote could not be denied based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
I need to know too!! So please, someone answer this.
Post your response to the following: Recall a situation in which someone was trying to persuade you. How effective was the argument? What could have made the argument more persuasive?
The 19th Amendment was passed by Congress on June 4, 1919 and was ratified on August 18, 1920. It gave women the right to vote, as well as gave women the same rights as men, and granted the freedom to own property.
No. Women got voting rights from the 19th amendment. the 14th stated that no one could be denied citizenship because of race, religion, etc. (used to give African Americans citizenship).
it can only be produced in windy areas
Probably not. Of course someone could make a very good argument in favor of that idea.
In the United States, the right to vote was always established. However, the 15th amendment made it so that voting could not be denied to people, based on their race, color, or previous condition of servitude. Also, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. In addition, the 26th amendment states that the voting age be changed to 18, instead of 21.
The 15th Amendment, passed in 1869 and ratified in 1870, established that no citizen could be denied the right to vote because of race, color, or previous servitude.Unfortunately, this did not extend the definition of "citizen" to include women, so it was not until the 19th Amendment (1920) that women were guaranteed this right.
