check the fan connector under the dash. it should be a four prone connector, which control the fan speed. replace it and it will work. If It works at some speeds and not others it is always the resistor that is At Fault . The slowest speeds usually will go first as the have the most resistance and therefore under the most stress . High speed will always work as there is no resistance just a direct feed to the motor

Only high-speed on fan was working now it doesn't is it the switch or the blower and how can you tell which one it is?

It is most likely a bad blower motor resistor. Replace the resistor. If the problem continues, it could be the switch.

You only have three speeds out of five on your heater motor where could the problem be?

blower resistor especially if its chrysler/jeep or blower switch

My blower motor in my 98 Pontiac sunfire works when it is at the highest 2 settings but it does not work on the lower 2 settings. why is this?

My first guess would be the blower motor speed resister. The second guess would be the switch and/or switch plug. I agree, It's a very common problem, the resistor goes for about $52.00 Can. Carquest has them part # RU44

How do you troubleshoot the fan blower motor switch problem on a 1991 Ford F150?

It will be either defective fan switch, motor itself, blower motor resistor pack, blown fuse, or defective wiring. If the blower runs on high but no other speed, suspect the resistor pack.

1997 Chevy pickup the blower on ac blows on high only does nothing on lower settings have change the blower motor but did not help?

I think you should look at your fuse panels and see if you have a blown fuse . Some vehicles have a fuse for high and low blower speeds. Your problem is either the blower motor switch itself or a defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack. More than likely the Resistor Pack is defective.

Does 2001 dodge durango have a blower motor or is it called a blower motor resistor?

Your truck has both. the resistor is between the switch & blower.thje resistor controls the blower speed

On a 300m the blower is stuck on high and can not be controlled with the switch is there a sensor for the blower to control it?

There is a Blower Motor Resistor Pack. Either the blower motor speed control switch itself is defective or the Resistor Pack is bad.

How is the dash removed from a '92 Sentra sufficiently to access the blower switch?

If you are trying to get to the blower switch because there is only one speed on the switch which is high, the problem is not the switch. It's the resistor in the blower motor and is ususally accessable in the passenger side floor. At least on my 92 that's where it was. You take out the two bolts, unplug the resistor plug in the new one and the process is done.

How do you change the blower switch on a 1995 mercury sable?

If your blower is working on some speeds but not all, more than likely the problem is a defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack. The switch rarely goes bad. Just a thought.

Why does the fan switch work on high but not on the other settings in a 2006 jeep wrangler?

The blower resistor has failed. Located behind glove box door.

Your 2002 Pontiac Grand AM ONLY blows air when it is on the highest setting what could be the cause of this?

Typically a relay or resistor. But could be a blower switch or blower motor problem.

Is there more than one fuse in the blower motor of a 1993 Ford explorer I have installed a new motor but the first three speeds do not work. Only the high speed on switch works?

replace the blower control switch One of 3 likely scenarios: Defective blower motor, problem with the switch or most likely is the resistor for the blower motor is bad. The resistor may also be referred to as a relay. THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR IS MORE THAN LIKELY BAD IT DOES NOT SEND VOLTAGE THROUGH THE RESISTOR ON HIGH SPEED ONLY THE LOWER SPEEDS TO DROP THE VOLTAGE. 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THIS IS THE PROBLEM. SHOULD BE ABOUT $20.00
