If the city has a anti noise ordinance that is non enforceable how can you get them to change the ordinance to become enforceable?

I know because I pushed this issue to get it changed.

Start talking to your police chief and tell him of the problem you are having with your noise problem. Understand that it is up to the police to enforce the un enforceable noise ordinance. We know that they can't enforce it ...... but they will take your complaint. Sorry to say that it is up to you to make a complaint to the police --do it as often as the violator envades your space. I had to file over 40. Obviously this is a waste of tax payers money of which you will use to express this to all the people that will be involved that have the authority to get the ball in motion. The Mayor, Administrator, Law Director, City Council and the Chief of Police. Rember that it is in the Chiefs best inteerest to get behind your cause because all the other mentioned people have let the Police Dept down at this point. In essence the police officer is sent to a gun fight without a gun, the non-enforceable noise oredinance.

I do not know what type of problem you are having with noise...dogs, "boom cars",etc. or like in my case a neighboorhood bar that played loud music up until 2:30p.m....."boom music", that would drive you nuts. I ran the bar out of business and I am dam proud of it. I had only asked the owners to turn the music down.

Go to your city administrator and Mayor it would help if you also had neighbors that also agreed with you that a noise violation is occurring consistently. I did not have any that would speak up so I had to tow the rope myself. And if it is only one person complaining it takes twice as much persistance to get your message accross to those that probably have no idea of how the noise is affecting your life style. In my case it affected my ear drums, heart beat. I throughly investigated the effects that noise can have on your mental health. No one would understand unless thay themselves went through it. It is a proven fact that noise kills. And what I mean is that it will drive you to the point that you will take the law into your own hands to resolve the problem. All because of the non enforceable noise ordinance. This is the point that I proved to all involved...and what liability the city would have by doing nothing to fix the problem.

I went to City Council Meeting and spoke, also talked many times to all involved...never give up. Remember I said I made ovedr 40 complaints.

On February of this year 08...I searched the internet and found there was a news clip that reported neighbors file 14 complaints against neighboor having loud parties....which ends with man kills neighboor because of loud music. "Noise does Kill"

I consider myself somewhat of knowlegable of "anti noise" you must educate yourself of the effects of it.

Certainly I can add more of what it took but you must make the effort to get it changed. Look on the internet Urbana Ohio noise ordinance...Also Urbana Ohio city council minutes noise ordinance...it will give you an idea of what I had to go through.
