Go to a salvage yard, and get from them a plug that came from a car similar to yours. Then go to a parts store and get about 20 butt connectors, and a crimping/stripping tool if you don't already have one, and splice the new plug into your car's harness. This is the easiest way.
if the car is not equiped with a factory amp then it is on the radio head unit itself. if it did most nissan's have it behind one of the rear panels in the trunk.
whats the wiring color codes for my 98 sentra radio
I changed the factory radio in my 98 Nissan Sentra GXE without any problems. I don't even think that model has any antitheft precautions unless they were installed aftermarket. I put in a Sony radio with CD and USB port. If your new radio doesn't work, make sure all the connections are correct and that your new radio isn't at fault. Make sure you plug the antena in... the stereo wont turn on unless the antena and power plugs are in.
Try checking the fuse.
it is located in the in cab fuse box labeled as mirror.
You can't be serious. If the display light goes out...that means it is out. Buy a new radio if it really bothers you.
I have same problem.
Here's a website with Nissan '99 manual. On page 94 it tells you how to program the stations. Hope it helpshttp://www.nissanextendedwarranty.com/owners-manual/Nissan/1999-Nissan-Sentra.pdf

Located in the passenger compartment near steerling wheel. Pull panel to see the fuse box which one is for the radio?
A person can obtain a radio wiring diagram print out for this car at an auto shop. They can also looking the cars maintenance manual for the diagram.
Assuming it's like my Ford , you have to reset the preset radio stations every time a battery cable is disconnected
