Before replacing the flasher you should check the fuses inside the car and in the engine compartment including fuseable links, then check for voltage in the flasher connector with the switch on, it may be that your switch is the problem. Newer cars use lighting control modules which would be the next place to check.
Make sure all bulbs are working Replace turn signal flasher
How bout the turn signal indicator switch located in the steering column.
change indicator flasher canit is under dashthere are 2, one for indicators and 1 for hazards
The 2000 Hyundai Excel indicator light and brake light might stop working all of a sudden because of a burned out bulb. Check all bulbs on the brake lights and turn signals. This problem could also be caused by a blown fuse or a blown flasher fuse.
replace your flasher relay
The common electrical device for these functions is the flasher unit. Replace it and it should fix everything. I don't know where the flasher is located though, but they are cheap. Should be less than 20 (Ozzie) bucks.
If you are referring to the "alarm" that clicks when the signal is activated - - that "clicking" sound is generated by the turn signal flasher unit itself. Check for need of replacement because the chances are good that if it is not working, all or some of your exterior directional signals are probably not working either.
the flasher relay is part of your 4way flasher button there should be a recall if its not working correctly
The hazard and turn indicator flashers are located under the dashboard, directly below the radio and just to the left of the cigarette lighter/ashtray. There are two side-by-side, with the turn indicator flasher on the right. You need to begin by removing panels starting from below the steering column, then working your way to the right. There was another answer that stated it was located behind the glove box, but those are relays.
If this clicking only happens when your turn indicator or hazard lights is on it's the flasher unit working. If not it's the stuff in the glove box rolling around probably.
Check bulbs and flasher if all are out most likely flasher is bad Check bulbs and flasher if all are out most likely fuse or flasher is bad
Turn Signal WoesWhen you activate the turn signal lever, electrical current is fed to the indicator light(s) in/on the instrument panel, AND to a RELAY [an electrically controlled switch which automatically turns its electrical output on and off repeatedly to create the "flashing"] which turns the current on to the turn on the signal lamps [bulbs].Since the dashboard indicator light (s) work is an indication that the first part of the circuit [to the flasher relay(commonly just called the "flasher)] is working properly. The fact that the lights do not turn on suggests that the flasher relay is defective and needs to be replaced. Either that, OR ALL of the turn signal lamps [bulbs] are burned out [very highly unlikely!!!!!].Usually, the flasher relay is located on/in the fuse panel or close by. Most flasher relays are aluminum colored, and are a cylindrical device about one inch in diameter and about 3/4s of an inch high, and they simply "plug" into a receptacle via pins on the base of the relay.Simply unplug the flasher relay from the panel and take it to any auto parts supply store [even Walmart has 'em], and get an identical replacement, plug it in, and you should have turn signals again.
