all cars start of with matching locks/ignition and key so the ignition or locks must have been changed
Graphite works well in lubricating key operated locks such as, pad locks, door locks and ignition locks.
Yes it is the same.
No, door locks & trunk-one key; Ignition- different key; I know-I have one
I have a 2001 Nissan quest, recently my door locks are malfunction, when I pull the door in it locks, when key in ignition it locks, what cause this problem?
When i bought my thunderbird the key to the ignition didnt fit the door locks so i had to replace the locks. That might be the best answer. :]
ingnition switch locks up on 2003 Ford Mustang and only way car will start is if you can turn steering wheel back and forth to get ignition key to turn
If the locks have not been changed, 1 key should operate all locks on the vehicle.
Usually you have replace the ignition key cylinder.
A mechanism that locks the steering wheel if the ignition switch is not in the "run" position, preventing someone that is trying to steal the car by hot wiring the ignition from driving the car.
Do you have the original ignition key?? Tape the old ignition key to the cowling around the ignition, then put new key in the ignition and see if it will run. The reason for this is there is a transponder chip in the old key that needs to be picked up by the rim module around the ignition barrel. If it works, take keys apart and swap transponder chip . Hope this helps
i don't have pwer to heater fan wiper, power windows, or power locks, some time when you just turn ignition everything is working soon as you start the engine it will quit
If it was made before '92, it's not supposed to.
A lock smith should be able to.
Wait 20 minutes and try again
Your ignition also locks your steering and at times you need to move the steering wheel a little and at the same turn your ignition key. Then you should be able to turn the key and start the engine. Hal
The room fuse in my '99 626 protects _ignition-off_ function of the power door locks, headlights, and some other functions, IIRC including all operation of the radio. For example, if the Room fuse is blown, my power locks work, but only with the ignition switch on. Doc
To disable it or put it on again . Turn ignition key on and off 4 times
The ignition key should open the door locks - unless the doorlock has been changed
Unless your locks were changed, the same key (ignition key) operates EVERYTHING on a Honda CR-V. However if you need an extra one, you can probably buy a replacement at any good locksmith's shop.
If you lost the keys and you can prove that you are the titled owner. The Chrysler dealer can order an ignition key with the VIN number. You may have to have the door locks replaced, if the door key is different from the ignition key. If that fails, try an auto electric shop to get the locks changed, maybe even a locksmith.
AnswerIf the key will rotate in the door locks, but not in the ignition switch then the key is not going in all the way due to debris in there, the steering wheel lock is binding the ignition lock (fix by rocking wheel back and forth while turning key) or mechanical failure of lock internals.
