Is the age to get a drivers license in California 18?

No. It is sixteen, but, you need driver training and drivers education. I'm not sure drivers ed is still offered in school. After you receive your permit, you still need to drive with someone over eighteen for a specified number of hours. If, however, you reach eighteen years, you can apply for a license without the driver training and the drivers ed.
