This is not the right way to go about it. What happens is that your stomach eventually shrinks. Your body will go elsewhere for nutrition, by taking your fat cells and storing them (because it's afraid you are starving yourself & it wants to save it). THEREFORE making it next to impossible to lose that fat in the future. My trick is to eat whenever I want, but I stop as soon as I get full. I don't finish all of my food in one sitting. I have also been prone to malnutrition, so it's important to me to eat regularly. You will get sick and nobody wants to be fed through a tube in the hospital! Eat Healthy and take a jog or walk every day, that's it :-)

Don't ever try to lose weight like that it wont work.You want to lose fat then don't eat fat (only small amounts of good fatty acids).You need 5 to 6 small meals a day high in protein and carbs to keep your body in an anabolic state,which means your body has more fuel(calories)than it needs and if it is fat it stores it.If you use good carbs for fuel and then have "extra" protein your metabolism is fueled and anabolism is taking

place,at which point protein,amino acids,and red blood cells work to grow muscle. Sorry if i got a little off subject,eat protein,take vitamins and stay active,that's how to lose fat or "weight"

As someone who has struggled with weight forever, I have tried everything. Even the 1 meal a day diet. this is basically considered starving yourself, no matter how big the 1 meal is. Starving yourself, taking diet pills etc.. can be risky and as soon as you get back on a healthy path you will gain all of the weight back. Try to walk more each day. Buy a pedometer. This is a small inexpensive device that you clip to your pants (on the inside so nobody sees it if you are embarassed) and it counts how many steps you take a day. If you take 10,000 (sounds like a lot but really isn't too difficult) and maintain a healthy diet... less snacking, smaller meals... you will lose weight. That is really all you need to do.

I have also been an on and off member of weight watchers. i don't necessarily recommend you join because you do not have a lot to lose but some things i learned from weight watchers are essentials for healthy weight loss. three things in particular:

1) Eat smaller portions. Even if you do not get much excercise, cutting down portions will allow you to lose a lot of weight. Instead of eating chips out of the bag, check the serving size on the back and count that amount of chips in a bowl so as not to overeat. Same with meals. No seconds. This will make a world of difference.

2) Weigh yourself once a week in the morning. I choose to weigh myself every Saturday. I wake up at 10am and weigh myself before eating anything. if i lost weight from the week before i allow myself a treat for that day.... an ice cream sundae.... french fries. something yummy. i will take the rest of the week to be healthy and work it off. you need to reward yourself on diets. also, weighing yourself weekly helps you keep track of your weight so you don't lose control.

3) keep active. use the stairs instead of elevators and escalators. even if you go to the mall, keep the walking pace up. just walking a lot will help you lose weight. try the pedometer.

Eating 1 meal a day, big or small, is not good for you at all. Actually, it is proven that eating 4-6 small meals a day is the best way to lose weight. 4 small meals keeps the metabolism going throughout the day, helping you burn more calories. one large meal bombards the system all at once making it difficult to digest and causing fatigue in the morning and/or evening (whenever you are not eating)

Example: Fruit for breakfast (apple, peach, watermelon, fruit salad...) Even a small bowl of cereal (1 cup of cereal and 1% or nonfat milk)

sandwich for lunch (light on the meat, cheese and mayonaise) maybe some carrot sticks or 55 goldfish (one serving is 55 and they are baked so not too fattening) you can also do a salad (no creamy dressings)

small snack before dinner (pudding or jello cup, fruit, granola bar, yogurt) you can even do chips if you stick to serving sizes.

healthy dinner.... with no second helpings! even pasta is okay if you keep it under 2 cups and try to stay away from creamy sauces.

PLEASE do not eat one meal a day. Trust me, you may lose a lot in the beginning, but you will gain it all back and more eventually bc you cannot keep this lifestyle up forever.
