Once your chick hatches you should place it in a brooding box, or an area that you have set up for the chick/chicks. Once the chick hatches you should help the chick find water by dipping its beak in water. The chick/chicks should have proper heat which is around 95-90 degrees for the first week, and you should drop 5 degrees every week. You should feed them a chick starer crumble that should be around 18% protein.

Remember that many diseases can be carried in the fecal matter of a chicken, so be sure to wash the egg carefully with soap and water and I'd suggest soaking it in a dilute solution of bleach and water for about 30 min. After that, you can check if the egg has gone bad or not by the obvious smell of rotten egg or by noticing if the yolk breaks immediately after being cracked. Point being, when in doubt, crack the egg in a separate container instead of adding it directly to whatever you are using it for.

If you are collecting the eggs for incubation you will need to store the eggs in a cool dark place between 40F / 58F and in high humidity. DO NOT store them in a refrigerator.

You can keep eggs for up to 7 days with 100% viability. After 7 days the viability of the eggs is greatly reduced each day.

What goes first the chicken or the egg?

If you "Came" and not "Goes", then I may have a solution. Think about this, can a chicken survive without an egg, yes, of course the chicken can survive without an egg. But, can an egg survive without a chicken, no, the egg must have the chicken to keep it warm. So, the obvious answer is that the chicken came before the egg.

Which came 1st the chicken egg or the chicken?

From an evolutionist's point of view, the egg came first. A chicken, by definition, must be born from an egg. The egg does not have to be a chicken's egg however. The egg could be layed by an avian that is very similar to a chicken, but which is not a chicken. A small mutation in the genes produces the chicken offspring, which in turn lays eggs to produce more young.
