No, just connect the cable to the cable modem and then connect the modem to the computer.

If you have used a cable splitter this may have resulted in the lose of that channel, make sure the cable box is attached to the outlet to the cable and not split with a splitter. If this is all completed and you still have the same issue contact your provider and you make need to pay more or have a technician come and to reprogram your cable box.
