Moving out after your rent runs out is chancy; you may be evicted before you plan to move. You may also be liable for the remainder of the lease. Discuss the issue with the landlord, and you may find some help in response to your advance notice.

∙ 8y agoAn eviction proceeding is so that the landlord can have his property back from someone who does not want to relinquish control over it. You've stated you've given notice to move. Therefore, the landlord will not evict you because you're relinquishing control over the rental.
However, you may be liable for a portion of the remainder of the lease agreement. If you had six months still left, you may be obligated to pay all six. However, the law requires a damaged person take reasonable steps to stop further damage, this known as mitigation of damages. In most courts, assuming damages were of ordinary wear and tare and nothing that would require a lengthy repair, a landlord will win 1-2 months rent.

This would depend upon the terms of the lease, but generally depend on why the landlord wants to terminate the lease. If the tenant violated the terms of the lease then the landlord can terminate the lease after proper warning or after proper notice is given. Otherwise the landlord has to wait until the lease expires and can choose not to renew.
