You need to consult with an attorney who can review your situation and determine your options under your state laws. The details sound as though you would prevail in an adverse possession claim but you may need a court order to perfect that claim and clear the title to your property.
Yes, because it is on your property, and is now your responsibility, since it is on your lawn, and not on theirs, it can be yours because it is on your property.
Adverse possession must be "hostile." If the neighbor grants permission, then the possession is not hostile. A good way to resolve this is for you neighbor to lease the irrigation right to you for $1 a year or something like that. The neighbor can put this lease into writing, and you can pay 100 years (or whatever) in advance. As long as the neighbor does not lose his copy of the lease, he has redress against your heirs attempting to claim the property is theirs. Use a standard lease agreement (specific to your state) if you do this - they have all the legalisms worked out in advance. See a lawyer for more info.
If the mailbox is on the other side of the sidewalk closer to the street then is it the county's property and it is a federal offense to mess with it but if it is in your property then yes you can do whatever you wish with it.
You should respect it because if you respect theirs they will respect your property

Yes. That is the purpose of a quitclaim deed, to transfer the ownership of real estate.
If the tree was on your property then you are. If it was on theirs , then they are.
They made themselves their own neighbors, taking land that wasn't theirs.
anywhere if theirs zumiez or krudco stores any where or you could go to a toystore and buy a cheap board
You could try speaking with your neighbor in a friendly manner and ask if you can prune your side of that tree. Our neighbor behind us had no light coming in her window because of one of are large cedar trees. She paid for a tree pruner to come in and we supervised to be sure the tree wasn't ruined. We were happy and she got her light. You could ask your neighbor to join you in pruning the tree. If your neighbor is giving you problems then go to City Hall and ask for their help and also get to know your property laws in your State.
You don't. If something is gifted to someone, it remains theirs permanently.
