rack may be worn out and need to be replaced Power Steering belt may be slipping and not turning pump fast enough Power steering pump may be bad
only 2 reasons -- not enough power steering fluid or bad part
your wheels are more than likely turned hard in one diretion turn your steering wheel hard in the diretion of the wheels and turn key
You won't want to. If you disconnect it, your steering will be almost too hard to turn in normal driving.
Most times, if it is hard to steer, there is a need for power steering fluid. If that is not the case the power steering pump itself might be going out. It would be best to take it and have it looked at before it gives anymore trouble.
you can still drive the car but its not recommended, its pretty hard on the power steering pump
Try draining the old power steering fluid using a small suction device and refill it with fresh fluid. Then bleed the air out by turning the wheel back and forth several times with the car off. If that does not fix it, a new power steering pump is probably needed.
the steering will become very very hard.
Check to see if power steering fluid is at correct level Could be belt is glazed and slipping Could be a bad power steering pump Could be a bad steering rack Could be worn front end parts
You should check the fluid level in the power steering pump.
Could be steering rack is badly worn Did you bleed the air out of the steering pump? Turn it slowly all the way two right then all the way to the left. Do this several times slowly. This should purge the air from the lines. Try that.
the steering pump belt is loose and needs to be tightened up. hope this helps.
sounds like a bad power stearing pump
