Hi,
Before you think about having to replace the thermostat, you should check the fluid level of the cooling system at the radiator cap. The coolant level needs to be absolutely full, right up to the bottom of the neck of the radiator. If it is not, fill it up there and also make sure that the overflow bottle is at least half full at all times. Keep checking it every day for a few days after you have filled the cooling system, as it will go up and down as the engine warms up and cools off.
What sometimes happens is that the coolant gets low and there is not enough to flow through the heater core. Other things to consider is a blocked heater core, or a trapped air bubble in the system. This would mean that you need to bleed the system of any air to get that bubble out.
Good Luck, Greg
Drain the vans radiator. Remove the top radiator hose and water inlet. take the thermostat out. Put in the new thermostat and re install the inlet and hose. Refill the radiator.
To replace a thermostat on a 2000 Ford F-250 V10, drain the radiator. Locate the thermostat on the top hose assembly and remove the screw. Replace the thermostat and refill the radiator.
Where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine you will find the thermostat.
Open the hood, locate upper radiator hose, follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the "gooseneck" located on the engine, the thermostat is located under the "gooseneck". The "gooseneck" has to be removed to replace thermostat.
Drain the radiator. disconnect the top radiator hose from the engine. Remove the water inlet that the hose was hooked to. The thermostat is in the housing. Replace the gasket when replacing the thermostat.
Drain the radiator. Remove the radiator hose. Remove the inlet from the engine. The thermostat is in the inlet. Replace the inlet and the gasket, and reverse the procedure to finish the procedure.
just follow the upper radiator hose to engine, and you will find it.
Replace the thermostat.
Follow the upper radiator hose back to the engine, it is connected to the thermostat housing on the engine. The thermostat is located under the thermostat housing.
follow the upper radiator hose, that should lead you to it.
Should be in housing at engine end of upper radiator hose
The thermostat is located on the engine of a 6.0 vortex 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The thermostat can be found by following the upper radiator hose directly to the thermostat.
