Depends on the job.. Is this an executive position or a federal job? or is this subway or Burger King?? If it's a high end job you may want to let your new employer know so that way he doesn't do a check and catch you lying.

There can be valid reasons for leaving a job off your resume, but the fact that you quit generally isn't one of them. In fact, you probably want your prospective employer to assume that you quit your former jobs as opposed to being fired from them!

Yes, the resume should be a comprehensive list of your past work experiences. If you do not include it in your resume, there will be a gap in time, which will make potential employers wary of you. Just be sure to prepare a logical explanation for why you quit if your potential employer questions you about it during an interview. No one should try to cover up something in a resume or an application. Some things are highlighted and stressed, others are not. But never, NEVER cover up or lie about something. If you are caught at it, THAT resume gets tossed.

no because your resume is used to to show your potential employer that you are what they are looking for if you tell them that you have previously been fired you give them cause to believe that you are not worthy also you have the right to withhold any information you may feel is too personal this also applies to having a criminal record even if the company ask if you have one you do not have to legally answer

My advice would be "no". However, if one's objective is not clearly focused then a broad reaching one about wanting to broaden one's horizon might be OK. It depends.
