I don't know if this will help, but I had to reset the anti-theft on my 2001 Jimmy today and this was the procedure: Try to start the engine, it will fire and die. Leave the key in the on position. Wait 10 minutes. The "Security" light will stay on during the 10 minute interval then turn off. Turn the key to the "off" position for 5 seconds. Repeat 3 times. (Yes. It takes 30 minutes and 15 seconds to reset the antitheft in a Jimmy.) 70.64.66.88 hit the nail on the head! I just replaced the ignition lock cylinder on my 1997 Grand Am SE and got the ANTI THEFT light. Following the above advice it only took one time before the system reset itself. Turned over engine, it died, left key in on position, anti theft light blinked for 10 minutes then went solid, turned key to off position, counted to 7 Mississippi, restarted engine, it fired and ran and anti theft light gone.
Generally the speedometer cable starts at the transmission and ends at the instrument cluster. Visually inspect from the firewall in the area of the instrument cluster and track back to the transmission. You should be able to find it with no problems. --mark

Very aggravating problem with a simple answer thanks to my wife! First, you must have the time showing in the instrument cluster of your dashboard (the digital display in the center of the dash showing the odomoter, temperature, etc.). If the time is not showing in the instrument cluster, then look/feel for a small button labelled 'BC' on the end of the turn signal indicator lever. Push this button to scroll through the options for the instrument cluster and stop when the time is displayed. With the time showing in the instrument cluster, twist and hold the right knob on the instrument cluster until the time starts to change. You can twist it forward or backwards depending on which way you want to set the time. This sets the time in both the instrument cluster and the radio.
it coulld have a blown fuse wich operates the instrument cluster

The whistle is a musical instrument. The washboard is a musical instrument.
A likely cause is a failing instrument cluster.
Most likely the cluster itself is bad and will need replaced.
