While it would be safe for the baby, the grandparent would need to take precautions against contagious diseases. Since babies are notorious germ spreaders (especially those with a lot of contact with other babies such as a daycare setting), people undergoing chemotherapy often avoid too much contact with the little ones. White blood cell counts can drop dramatically during cancer and chemo treatment, leaving patients vulnerable to various contagious illnesses.
However, not all chemo treatments or all cancers cause this problem. This is definitely a question for the oncologist.

Everything an individual does affects them; good or bad. To support a Chemo patient means to be there through the good and bad times they may have. Chemo (depending on how much Chemo they will be getting and the length of time) can leave the person feeling sick to their stomach; weak; sometimes depressed and in some cases the loss of hair; perhaps eyebrows and eyelashes can cause further depression. If you feel you can be there 100% for them then you should be. Many Chemo patients are amazing and take their treatments with few complaints.
You can get that tumor surgically removed and do some radiation to help clear it all up and lessen chances of it coming back. You may not need Chemo, at all.
He had at least 12 children, so to list his great-great-great grandchildren could take a long time
Yes, a grandparent can take out life insurance on a grandchild with the grandparent as the policy owner and beneficiary. However, it's important to consider factors like insurable interest and consent from the child's parent or guardian before proceeding with the policy. Consulting with an insurance agent or attorney would be recommended to ensure all legal and financial implications are understood.
My doctor prscribed 10mg. I take it at might for an over secretion of saliva, a side effect of chemo. I'm wondering if I can also take another 10mg dosage during the day?
This is so, so common! I've heard this story from a couple of my own girlfriends who are grandparents. It doesn't matter what she wants you to do she has no right to blackmail you with the grandchildren. Married or not, she's your daughter so let 'er rip and put her in her place! Kids are never too old to be shot kicked when they are out of line. Don't live under the threat of not seeing grandchildren. I know it's easier said than done, but you might as well take the risk or she may do it anyway.
Standard chemo (Adriamicin, Cytotoxin, etc.) start to work nearly instantly. Putting it simply, they target the fastest growing cells, which typically are malignant cells. You're on your way to recovery the moment the meds hit your bloodstream.
No - still alive obviously but 2nd recent reoccurrence of Head and Throat cancer, tonsil area, jawbone, and left side of face. Very concerned about 'nil' treatment options since I can not undergo surgery nor re-radiation. Currently chemo but not working that great. Trying to do alternative treatment as well. Wondering how long I have since chemo is not a 'cure' for head and throat cancer. And, wondering 'how much chemo can I body take?
