In most states the age is 18, with the exception of Nebraska where it is 19. Then there is the state compulsory education law, which indicates when a student can leave school. In some states the law only allows a student to leave school at the age of legal or majority if the student has finished the grade in which they became the legal age; and likewise will require the student to finish that school year.
