If a monster has special summon requirements (can only be special summoned by, cannot be special summoned except by) then these are the only way the monster can initially reach the field. This cannot be overridden, if the monsters are hit by A Hero Emerges, they can't be summoned by it.

Can kuriboh's effect stop obelisk from from doing damage?

Kuriboh's effect does not 'target' the attacking monster. It can therefore be used against the damage dealt by Obelisk the Tormentor, reducing it to 0.

Does Winged Kuriboh lvl 9 count as a Kuriboh for the use of the card effect of the spell card Multiply?

No, there is a difference in game terms between a 'Kuriboh' and a 'Kuriboh card/monster'. The first literally means the Lv1 Fiend that protects your life points. The latter means any card with Kuriboh in the name. Multiply requires a 'Kuriboh' and not a 'Kuriboh card', meaning only the original Kuriboh can be used, no special versions like Lv9 or Lv10.

Does the dark legends kuriboh have a different effect?

The exact wording might have changed from print to print, but Kuriboh's actual game effect has always been the same since its original print in the Yugi starter deck.

Does The Six Samurai - Zanji's effect target?

No, his effect does not target. The monster he will affect is pre-selected by being involved in battle with him, there is no 'selection' involved, which is the essence of a targeted effect.

If a spell card in Yu-Gi-Oh says a monster must attack all of the opponent's monsters and one of them can not be selected as an attack target what happens?

In general, if one effect tells you to do something, and another effect says you cannot do that thing, the can't effect will win out. So if a monster says it must attack, it doesn't win out over an effect which says it can't attack. If a monster can attack all of the opponent's monsters, this does not override the effect which makes one of them unable to be selected as an attack target.

Is the playable version of obelisk the tormentor a normal or effect monster?

If your opponent uses Raigeki Break to destroy your monster and you use Icarus Attack on that selected monster and destroy 2 cards on his side of the field would Raigeki Break still resolves?

It will 'resolve without effect' because its target has gone.

Can a monster still change its battle position by a card effect if it was already selected by Creature Swap in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yes. The 'cannot change battle position' limitation is only for manual changes such as flip summons or putting a monster into attack mode. The monster's position can still freely be changed by effects.

Is a tuner an effect monster?

Simply being a Tuner does not make a monster into an effect monster - it is not specifically an effect monster subtype, unlike Spirit or Toon. There are effect monsters who are Tuners, but there are also Normal Monsters with the Tuner subtype too, these are in no way counted as effect monsters.

If brotherhood of the fire fist - tiger king activated his effect by detaching a monster and he is destroyed does his effect still work?

Destroying a monster in chain to the activation of its effect, will not stop the effect resolving unless it specifically and obviously requires the monster to remain face-up on the field. The lingering effect of Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King cannot be negated simply by destroying the monster. You would have to chain a monster negation effect to its activation.

What is an equip monster in yu gi oh?
