Here's my opinion. Talk to your girl first, find out why she thinks this. Then, CALMLY, talk to the dude she believes is in love with her, find out his reasons. DISCUSS with words, why you both have an attraction to her, then CALMLY explain that at the present time, she's with you. There is always another time for them. (sorry, but it's true.) But, don't resort to violence. That gets you no where. Anyway, If the girl decides to leave you, then she wasn't worth your time. We have a funny way of doing that to the good guys... And I hate it to when the ones of us who aren't like that. guys suspect us. But, getting off topic... just talk to them, maybe at the same time, just try to keep it calm, ok?

On the other hand, if you're in a situation where you don't particularly like your family for some reason - after all, you didn't choose them - it's fine to love your boyfriend - who presumably you did choose - more.
