could be signs that labor is near or you may have a slight infection but more than likely its labor

I had a similar situation and I was fine. If you have cramps then you really need to go to the doctor.

Brown discharge, is not really discharge at all. It's the beginning of your lining shedding or rather your cycle is starting.

Brown discharge usually indicates "old" blood. If you are having a miscarriage the blood will be bright red and flowing. At four weeks pregnant an ultrasound will not show a heartbeat. So at that stage you would be unable to judge the viability of the pregnancy. The brown discharge is probably the baby attaching itself to the the uterine wall - some small bleeding can occur then.
