Here in Las Vegas there are many custom pools with max depth under 5'. We are building a pool now and the company originally wanted to max the depth at 5' as most custom in-ground pools here are designed for lounging, not diving. It was quite the discussion to convince them we wanted a 'real' deep end. And since it's our pool, they are making it happen. Perhaps it depends on where you live, but again here in Southern NV, it is common for the deepest portion of custom, in-ground pools to be between 4 1/2' to 5' deep.

Q: Im guessing that to get an inground pool installed having the deepest end at only 5 feet would mean that my only option would be an above ground installed as an inground is this correct?
