Is it unusual to have period cramps in the first month of pregnancy?

Yes, mild cramping is normal in early pregnancy. For me it felt like that little bit of cramping I would get just before my period would start, the mild cramps that let me know bigger cramps would be coming. Only in early pregnancy, bigger ones shouldn't come. Mild and slightly uncomfortable, but not excruciating and dibilitating in the way period cramps can sometimes be.

How high is the risk of having a miscarriage when you get pregnant with an IUD in place?

There is a slightly greater risk than normal. Nothing too bad, but a small one. If you are early in your pregnancy, you can get a doctor to remove it.

Can you get pregnant while slightly bleeding from a miscarriage?

No you can't get pregnant while slighty bleeding fro a miscarriage!

When you have misscarage you push it out?

Not necessarily. It depends on how far along a pregnancy is. If a woman is only a few weeks pregnant, the embryo is very small. The woman may have a normal, or slightly heavy, period, which is actually a miscarriage, and not even know she was ever pregnant. It is possible for part of the embryo/fetus or placenta to remain in utero after a miscarriage. This is called "retained products of conception." If you suspect that you are having a miscarriage, you should contact your doctor.

You are cramping and bleeding can you be pregnant?

Yes. These may be warning signs of an early miscarriage (depending on how much bleeding and how long it lasts). Cramping and bleeding may also be associated with implantation in early pregnancy (when the pregnancy "grows into" the uterine lining and the placenta begins to form.) Some cramping, from mild to moderate, is normal in pregnancy as the uterus grows and the woman's pelvic organs begin to move. Many women have spotting or bleeding after sex during pregnancy as well, due to increased blood flow to the cervix. The only way to know for certain if you are pregnant is to take a home pregnancy test AFTER your missed period (or two weeks after you think you conceived.) Some home tests may be positive for some women as early as 10 days after conception, though it may take longer for the test to turn positive for many women.Your doctor or midwife may be able to get a slightly earlier result on a blood test. If you've had a positive urine test at home (or three or four positives!), going to the clinic for another blood test is not going to change the result. Similarly, an ultrasound won't reliably show the pregnancy until about 5 weeks, and won't give any useful information until 6-8 weeks. There really is such thing as "a little bit pregnant," and though it's normal to want answers right away, early pregnancy is an example of "only time will tell," and it's best to just wait it out. That said, severe cramping or pain (especially on one side of your belly and not the other) or bleeding heavier than a period (soaking into your clothes) are important warning signs to let your doctor or midwife know about right away.

Can you swollen ankles have anything to do with a miscarriage?

Pregnant women frequently suffer swollen ankles with no adverse effects on the pregnancy. It's a by-product of raised blood pressure. If they trouble you, raise your feet slightly for an hour or so whenever you are lying down and for serious problems use a tubi-grip for an hour or so each day.

Your period is 3 days late and you have been slightly cramping for about a week Could you be pregnant?

when you miss your period, and if you are pregnant, does your body still cramp like it does when you are starting your period?

What can you expect if you miscarry at 14 weeks pregnant?

Once past 12 weeks the placenta is functioning and the chance of miscarriage is greatly reduced. Unless there is a particular reason (medical) why you may have a miscarriage the risk is so small that you can forget it.

If it is your first pregnancy can you lose the baby?

About half of all early miscarriages happen because of a problem in the way your genetic material (chromosomes) combined when your egg and your partner's sperm has joined during fertilisation. You may never find out why this has happened, but it's more likely to be due to chance than to any underlying problem with either you or your partner.Imbalances in pregnancy hormones, problems with your immune system, and some infections such as listeriosis (Listeria infection) and malaria are also thought to make miscarriages more likely. Miscarriages become more common as you get older, because egg quality decreases with age. If you drink alcohol while you're pregnant, your risk of having a miscarriage is higher. It's also higher with multiple pregnancies, such as twins. Smoking may increase the risk of miscarriage, so you should stop smoking during pregnancy. There isn't enough evidence to show whether or not stress is a risk factor for miscarriage, but it's a good idea to take time during the day to relax.Doing moderate exercise or having sex whilst you're pregnant doesn't increase your risk of miscarriage. You're slightly less likely to have a miscarriage if you previously took the contraceptive pill.Often you won't know what has caused your miscarriage. If you have already started to miscarry there is very little that can be done to prevent it.

What is the sexual position for pregnancy?

There is no particular position that will guarantee conception or prevent conception. Some positions allow slightly deeper penetration which might increase the odds of conception slightly.

Do breasts change in pregnancy?

Yes. They enlarge because they are preparing for milk production. If you do not breast feed, they will loose most of this enlargement, but not all because they become slightly stretched with each pregnancy.
