look on the carpet on passanger side if its damp your ac drain is very likely plug you have got to put on hist to unplug it from under neath
The two most common possibilities are a plugged up condensation drain for your air conditioning, and a leaking heater core. You will usually smell antifreeze from a leaking heater core. Another less common problem is a leaking windshield gasket.
Yes, most likely if its under the passenger side dash its your heater core. Not hard to fix. Good luck
A common problem with this is the result of mold buildup on the condenser coil for the AC system. Another related problem could be a clogged drain tube coming from the HVAC compartment.
Leaking heater core or leaking windshield. If it taste sweet, it is coolant and the heater core is leaking. i have a 96 and i found that the fire wall has rusted out from the drain holes under the hood and the rack has pulled oof This is a very common problem with the 92-96 Berettas, I am almost positive that it is NOT a leaking windshield or leaking heater core. The water leak is because of a factory defect. There is a gap in the seam in the fresh air inlet under the hood in the cowl area(passenger side). The water usually ends up on both passenger and drivers side. I have had 3 Berettas and they all have had this problem!
Have you used your air conditioning lately? The most common reason for water to appear to be leaking on the passenger floorboard is that the condensation drain for the air conditioning is plugged. Unfortunately, the drain is pretty much inaccessible to the average person and I have yet to discover a reasonable method of clearing it other than paying the dealer or a mechanic to do it. The other, less common causes for that type of leak is that the heater core is leaking, in which case the fluid will be antifreeze rather than water, or the door seal on the passenger door may be leaking, or the windshield gasket may be leaking.
This is a general answer, not specific to a town car...I have found (through a number of older cars) two common sources for water on the passenger side. 1. A leaking heater core. If that is your problem you may be able to smell antifreeze (assuming you are not running straight water in your radiator)...or may find after driving the car that the dampness/water is hot or warm. 2. A leaking cowl (the louvers/grate in front of your windshield.) If so it will be worse after a rain or carwash. Heater cores are notoriously awkward to get to and replace. good luck!!
Bad head gaskets leaking coolant into comustion chambers, reason for no visible leaks. common problem on diesel engines all over the world.
This sounds like a common problem with the 3.1L and 3.4L v6 of the lower intake manifold leaking. TechJK ----------------------
The most common signs of a bad heater core are; no heat or fluid leaking into the passenger compartment. The heater core can have a leak or it can be plugged.
One of the problems with the 1989 Yamaha VMax is the sparking from the spark plug. Another problem is the leaking under the dashboard.
That means you have WATER leaking into the combustion chamber. BAD head gasket, Intake gasket leaking into the cylinder heads ( NOT COMMON ) Head cracked in are around the valves / from overheating. More then likely you will find your problem in in the head gaskets are heads.
Sounds like a heater core is leaking. That is a very common problem. You will be far better off to have both the heater core and the AC evap replaced at the same time. they are both in the dash and they both commonly go bad. fix both with the same labor.
