In Maine What rights does a grandparent have of 16 yr old that has been living with her for the past month. Can the parents make the 16 yr old go home the Father is alcoholic and there is verbal abuse?

This would be a good question to ask your county social services agency. Look under the name of the county you live in the white pages or Google your (name of your county) social services. Or look under "child protective services" for your county. There may well be 24-hour number to call. If you can't find any info that way, you can call the county sheriff's dept. non-emergency number and they will probably be able to help you. Good luck...and if you can, start going to Al-Anon or Ala-Teen meetings in your community...again, something you can find online.
