go to the parts store,buy a starter, go back to the ailing vehicle, remove old starter,NOW you can install the new starter...hope this helps dooooooood.
If its a 2 wd, The starter can come out the bottom, fairly easily, If it is a 4wd, You will have to: Remove the front skid plate, Drop the front steering linkage ( remove the nuts, Put a pickle fork in and smack till they pop free ) This will allow you the required room to pull the starter out from the front of the engine area. Once you've got the starter in a decent spot, Dissconnect the wireing to it. Pull it out ( after many curses and skinned knuckles.) OR you can Drop the whole 4wd assembaly ( 8 + hours ) OR remove the passanger front tire, Dissconnect all the brakelines to make room, And try to weezel it out between the body and frame.

Starter solenoid sticking. Replace the solenoid if it is external. If it is internal, then just replace thee starter. It will cost a little more but you will have a new starter and solenoid.
