Yes, technically Acura is a part of the American Honda company. Although a Japenese founded company, many aspects of the Acura brand are all American. The first auto manufacturing plant was opened in 1982, over 30 years ago.

The design, testing and R&D for many Acura models happen in the USA

Acura MDX - Lincoln Alabama

Acura RDX - East Liberty Ohio

Acura TL - Marysville Ohio

Acura ILX - Greensburg, IN

In all, 24 models of Acura/Honda car and light truck models have been researched, designed and developed in the US since 1991.

As of 2012 90% of Acura & Honda vehicles sold in the US were manufactured in North America, the highest rate of any international automaker. Honda has maintained a local auto production rate of 75% or higher the last 15 years

2012 Production Totals

1,219,000 Cars and Light Trucks

1,376,000 Vehicle Engines

1,359,000 Transmissions

Also, over 90,000 US made vehicles are exported to other markets around the world from the US. In 2014 Honda will export more vehicles from North America than it imports from Japan.
