Not exactly. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England all form what is known as the "United Kingdom." On the other hand, "Great Britain" is another name for England. The country of Scotland is not in (or inside of) the country of England. Rather, Scotland borders England, but is a separate country, with its own capital. It has historical ties to England and used to share the same government (the British Parliament), but since 1999, Scotland now has its own parliament.

Scotland is part of Great Britain. Great Britain is the name of an island which is divided into three separate counties; England, Scotland and Wales. These three countries, together with the province of Northern Ireland (Ulster), make up the United Kingdom. Within the United Kingom; Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales all have their own devolved pariaments who are resonsible for some of the running of their specific countries. The overall government of those three countries, and also of England, is done by the Britsh parliament.

Great Britain refers to an island that is made up of 3 countries: England, Scotland and Wales. In the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland is included, making four; the official name of the UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. So Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain, as it is on the island of Ireland. The people of Northern Ireland can have British and Irish citizenship under international law.
