Canada is a huge country, the second largest in the world. Parts of it are in the Arctic Circle, and would be much colder than Ireland. Other parts of Canada are much warmer and can have temperatures higher than Ireland would experience.

Ireland is not particularly cold. Given that it is 53 degrees north of the equator, it is a lot warmer than other parts of the world that are that far north. Temperatures do go below zero celsius in winter, but you can also get very mild days in winter. Ireland's weather is unpredictable. Ireland does not get particularly hot either.
