Jhirna is on the outskirt of Corbett Tiger Reserve ( CTR). Moreover Jhirna is in the buffer zone odf the park. It is less exposed commercially and offers good stay for a couple of days far from the madding crowd. It is open round the year. Dhikala is situated in the Core Area but is a pure tourist place. You cannot get the solitude there however the chances of spotting a tiger are much more than jhirna. Opens from 15 Nov through 15 June.

Jim Corbett's life is an exciting story that is often narrated by wildlife enthusiasts. Not only was he a great preserver of natural reserves but a great hunter and also a brilliant author as well. Belonging to a British Family, Corbett was born in India in the year 1875. He was the eighth child of a post master. Right from an early age, he showed a sharp interest towards Indian forest and its wild inmates. His jungle instincts honed him for future when he hunted down many ferocious man-eater cats in the forests of India.
