Not exactly. Omega 3 fatty acids, are fats. Marketers know people don't like the word "fatty" on their food, so they typically tout "Omega 3s!" on their labels. All fats have calories, which marketers would call "energy", technically correct, but again, weasels around consumers' preferences for certain words. So by eating Omega 3s, or any fat, carbohydrate, protein or caloric substance do you "increase your energy levels"? Yes. You will have more energy from eating a Big Mac too- calories provide energy. Will you be more energetic from this added energy? To a point, just like with any food- then you have mostly potential energy (:-) fat). Wolf down a whole Thanksgiving meal and all of that "added energy" will send you right to sleep. So you've been goat-roped in that manner. On the other hand, diets high in Omega-3 fats (at least those from fish, for certain) have been shown to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, and may protect against cognitive decline in later age. Including Omega-3s would be wise, even if it doesn't "increase your energy levels" anymore than another fat.
