Legally, Jammu & Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India. The British had ruled India as one undivided country made up of many provinces and princely states. When they left, India was partitioned into two separate countries. The new country, as mentioned earlier, was called Pakistan. The British as well as the leaders of both India and Pakistan had agreed to one basic principle - every inch of land must go either to India or to Pakistan. In other words, people living in India before the partition of 1947, had only two options: they could either join Pakistan or they could join India. They could not remain independent.Jammu & Kashmir was actually an exception. The Maharaja of the State had wanted time to decide whether he should join Pakistan or join India. But the rulers of Pakistan did not want to give him the opportunity to decide and instead attacked his state, killing hundreds of people and causing extensive damage to property. The Pakistani action forced the Maharaja to join India. But still pakistan try to take over kashmir which is illegal.
Kashmir has been at the center of a brutal tug-of-war between India and Pakistan for over sixty years. They have been struggling to obtain the region. There has been a temporary resolution, known as the line of control, splitting Kashmir so that India gets control over two thirds of the region. However, even though tensions had lessened, they haven't stopped completely. Three additional wars broke out between India and Pakistan. Pakistan believes Kashmir belongs to them because of its Muslim majority. Also Kashmiri people would much rather be with Pakistan even though India is rapidly growing economically, because of its Muslim majority-they're in fear of being considered second class citizens to the Hindus.
Kashmir dispute, Water dispute, Terror Activities and Politics are the main facts behind India and Pakistan War.
It is not the only key but it would certainly do a great deal. there r other disputes like Canal-water disput
It didn't come as a surprise to anyone that at the time of partition, the majority of problems faced by Pakistan had something or the other to do with India. The first problem was about the division of resources. India was in obvious advantage with the excuse of its 'greater size'. The 750 million promised sum of money which should have come to Pakistan was cut down by India and Pakistan only received a paltry sum of 200 million. It was only due to Gandhi's hunger strike that coerced Nehru to send 700 million to Pakistan. Still 50 million wasn't given, which was Pakistan's due share. The same case was with the distribution of arms and ammunitions and other things. The second problem dealt with the canal water issue. Once again India had blocked the supply of water to Pakistan and only complied when the United Nations intervened to solve the problem. The third and most important problem was that of refugees who had come to Pakistan from India, homeless and without any monetary support. The same was the case with Hindus and Sikhs who had migrated to India from Pakistan. The last and most crucial problem was that of the state of Kashmir. At the time of partition, all states were given the free choice to join India or Pakistan. Nevertheless the ruler of Kashmir who was a Hindu didn't pay any attention to the majority consent of the Kashmiris and instead joined with India. The Hindu Dogra raja of Kashmir instead started forcing Muslim Kashmiris out of the state. A mujahideen force decided to overthrow the Hindu ruler. Overnight, Kashmir acceded to Inida against the wishes of its people. The Indian army was immediately sent to the help of the ruler of Kashmir. The matter was referred to UNO, which decided on a plebiscite. It remains unimplemented to this
pakistan has signed the indus water treaty with india. :)
because most of the Pakistani rivers originates from kashmir and north east and north west of the country. India have already unlawfully occupied Muslim majority states in the region and kashmir is also one of them. economic importance is because of origination of rivers which are main source for irrigation in an agricultural country and if india builts more dams on these originating points of rivers water will be blocked in Pakistani states thus creating scarcity of water which will lead to economic turmoil for a county that mostly depends on its agricultural output.
First of all river indus rises in tibet near lake mansover. flowing west, it enters india in the ladhakh district of jammu kashmir. then indus and its tributaries - the satluj, the ravi, chenab, jhelum, beas, join with the indus in MITHANKOT,PAKISTHAN.a third part of indus is located in india- jammu kashmir, punjab, himachal pradesh, and the rest lies in pakisthan. hope u find my answer helpful and like this indus is shared by both.
As we know peninsula is a dry land covered by water on three sides. Pakistan is not at all a peninsula because water doesn't surround it on three sides. Arabian sea touches Pakistan on its southern side only. So, Pakistan is not a peninsula.
Ular Lake is India's largest fresh water lake and is in the Bandipora District in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
i) 25 % of India {Madras} ii)Africa iii)Pakistan
when India diverted the water to the the rajastan desert after partition there was no dam to improve the irrigation in punjab, bahawalpur and lower indus. thus 8 million acres of land in Pakistan were affected by this loss of irrigation water. so to give pakistan the irrigation water indus water treaty was necessary
