If it had a remote oil cooler, yes. If not, no.
it's a pz-35 ..... look up top ...it's right behind your air filter housing on the right side of the engine .
You must hand tighten the filter.
It is called the oil filter housing.

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. It's in the housing on the engine.
According to one of the Ford websites : For a 1989 Ford F-250 , 7.3 liter diesel engine : The ( Motorcraft FL-784 ) engine oil filter is used
This leak can be the block, mount or as simple as the filter assembly seal itself. An easy way to isolate the condition would be changing the oil filter, starting the engine and checking for new leaks.
When engine is cool- Remove the air intake filter assembly and air hoses to expose the Thermostat housing on the engine. Make sure you mark or paint where any removed hose goes back on the engine or air filter assembly. The thermo is in the engine, under the water connection housing.The top radiator hose is connected to that housing. Remove two -three small bolts on housing. Replace thermo and gasket. reinstall bolts and check out water supply for leaks. If none -reinstall all things removed to access thermo and test all operations.
