The Asus X54C-BBK7 laptop is definitely enough to play minecraft.
The minimum requirements for Minecraft as of 2012 is: (in brackets in the recommended requirements)
-Intel Pentium 1.6Ghz (3.0Ghz)
-500MB RAM (1GB)
-1 GB HDD (1 GB)
-128 Mb GPU (256 Mb)
The Asus X54C-BBK7 far exceeds the recommended specs, but keep in mind, minecraft relies heavily on RAM to help process the game. Therefore, to play smoothly, Minecraft should be able to access 1-3 GB of RAM.
The Asus laptop would have no problem though!

∙ 10y agoYes indeed is great for Minecraft, which for the specs it has you can probably run minecraft in the highest settings allowed with no lag. I recomend that for only $75 dollars more you buy the 2gb gt740M graphics card. Your laptop should be able to play anything, but maybe crysis on it with the graphics card. Don't upgrade the processor to an i5 or i7 its not worth it, also go with the Intel® Centrino Wireless-N 2230 its only a $5 dollar upgrade, and you get twice the speed! If you want windows 7 with your laptop then you almost need the upgraded wireless card. In my opinion this is a really affordable gaming laptop, though just to play Minecraft you can get away with a cheaper laptop.
