Dogs are like humans...all equal, it is rude to think that one breed reins above another.
It makes no difference what breed they are, it is how they are raised and how they are treated by humans, and other animals, and their living conditions. Sure dogs have their individual tendencies (most likely formed because of the lacking of their master) but you can't say one breed is worse than another (it is like comparing human races; totally unfair and injust)
A Catahoula is a specific breed.
Australian cattledog mix, possibly with catahoula leopard dog.
If you mean to ask: "Is the catahoula the state dog of Louisiana?", the answer would be yes. They are also known as Catahoula Leopard Dogs.
According the the American Temperament Testing Society, American Pit Bull Terriers have a passing rate of 86% and Catahoula Leopard Dogs have 75%. For comparison, Golden Retrievers have a passing rate of 84.6%. Compare that also to the Bearded Collie, which has only passed 53.3% of the dogs tested. In conclusion, you are more likely to get a dog that has temperament issues if you get a Catahoula than if you were to get a APBT, but both breeds are still highly likely to be stable and balanced dogs. If you're a responsible dog owner who spays/neuters, exercises, feeds, trains, and loves your dog, it makes no difference what breed you own. _________________________________________________________________ Their temperaments are about the same.they are both very dominant and strong dogs but if trained right, will be the sweetest guardian of your house.Katahoulas were mainly bred for hunting and are pretty hyper dogs.I have a Katahoula myself and she is the most hyper dog I've ever seen.
Yes, a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog does has a strong temperament.
Yes, & a Bull Dog can kill a Pit. Pits are not worse.
Elephants
Louisiana's state dog is the Catahoula leopard dog
The price of a Catahoula can range from free to around $800 or more, depending on its lines, the breeder and quality of the dog
Well a Catahoula is generally a big dog, so if the collie was smaller, then the size of the puppies would be smaller.I have two Catahoula Leopards/Spaniels. They are: male;75lbs female;50lbs.They are smaller than the average catahoula, because of the spaniel they were bred with.I would say a collie/catahoula mix would be the same, maybe a little lighter. (male;70lbs, female;45lbs.)
Neither is better. Neither is worse. They are both dogs. If any breed of dog is kept by a responsible owner who spays/neuters, exercises, feeds, and trains his dog, you'll have a good dog. No breed is inherently better or worse than any other breed.
it is a catahoula/austrialian cattle dog mix
