yes it will work and is a good idea to use one if you are going to be driving lots o dusty climets back roads off roads or lots of shot trips i run them on the 4.3s that i own and a 2.5 s10 and i am happy with them so far

Its locate in the down right side of the motor,is a AC-PF47 filter.
For the 2.2 engine, ACDelco PF457G.For the 3.4 engine, ACDelco PF47.
