In my opinion, there is only one way to cure it. It's called accutane. Other drugs will make it not come out but when you stop them the acne comes back. Accutane will make it stop forever. Accutane is a derivative of vitamin A. It is called isotretinoin.. I think? It actually shrinks your oil glands. I started taking it November 9th, 2010. It is now January 19th, 2011. My acne is now almost ALL gone. I had it on my cheeks, chin, forhead, nose, back, and chest.
The only thing bad is the side effects. It is possible to get organ damage. It can permanately mess up your joints... or so ive heard. While on the medication your skin is unbearably dry and flaky and scaly. All you have to do is apply lotion (NON-COMODEGENIC... this means non-clogging). Your doctor will explain all this. This drug is dangerous and is government regulated. Someone accused accutane made his son commit suicide. It was said accutane can make you depressed and have suicidal thoughts. For me, this is not the case. I am not going to have suicidal thoughts when my face is the clearest its been since I was like 12.
If you consider accutane, you need to visit a dermatologist. He will make you sign a bunch of papers and then make you come back for another visit. He then should give you a prescription (This is how it happened for me). Then you can start your accutane cycle. You need to go back every month because it is a serious drug and it is a harmful drug. The dermatologist will give you a certain dosage depending on your weight, height, and how severe your acne is.
... This is how it happen for me. It may be different depending on your doctor.
Now... Your doctor may not give you accutane because it may not be bad enough. There are other options that can make acne not come out. If these options work your doctor will probably not give you accutane. ACCUTANE IS JUST THE LAST RESORT.

An excellent natural alternative to drugs can be found by reading a book called The Dietary Cure for Acne by Professor Loren Cordain. (If you don't want to buy it, you may be able to borrow a copy from your local library). This dietary cure is scientifically proven to clear acne. It recently came into being (within the last few years) through the research of Professor Cordain. It has apparently worked for thousands of previous acne sufferers. It is backed by groundbreaking research that was published in the major nutrition and scientific journals.
