Yes, depending on what you are planning on connecting to your television. If the device you are connecting has an HDMI output, HDMI is the only connection you will need. HDMI carries high definition audio and video.
You will need a HD converter box from the cable company, it might have a HDMI jack for the cable to connect to the HDTV.
You will also need an HDMI cable to view movies on a newer Blu-Ray Disc player, as manufacturers have agreed that the component output will no longer be able to output 1080i or 1080p high definition video.
To view something in HD you must use a HDMI cable.

A 1080i signal, which is the highest video quality of HDTV in North America, can be transmitted on component video cables, although many HD boxes are losing this type of output, and Blu-Ray players made in the past few years have the component video output crippled so that the signal is pushed down to 480p (DVD quality) on this connection.
That depends on your hardware configuration. Some smart TV's come with an inbuilt Netflix app. If this is the case with yours then you will not need anything but a Netflix account. If your Netflix is being streamed to your TV from an external device then an HDMI cable will be needed to connect this device to the HDMI input of your TV.
Yes with Propriatary Sony Component Cables. Here's a Link. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802600 PS3 has a HDMI output that can take the PS3 HDMI combo A/V cable that comes with the console when purchased and is used for standard 480 TVs or you can use an optional PS3 Component and HDMI cable or a HDMI cable with the HDMI plug on both ends. So on every PS3 cable one end has a HDMI plug that goes into the PS3 and the other end of the cable has different connections including one optional cable with S-Video on the other end.
for a high definition signal on a playstation 3 you need a hdmi cable using a simple scart lead will only give you standard deffinition if you are looking to buy a hdmi cable the cheapest ones are on eBay
After you have broadband or DSL internet service then you need to purchase the equipment needed to connect the PS3. The PS3 can be connected only with WiFi or an ethernet cable to your modem or router
You can not have a HDMI Cable and a A/V cable connected at the same time on a PS3. Only one spot exists to plug it in at the back of the PS3. If you do not use the A/V cable the came with the PS3 there are optional S video Cables and also Optional Component Cables that can be used for HDTVs besides using a HDMI cable
u have to use your ps3 av multi out cable
Yes, as long as you have a HDMI connection on your cable box - just connect it to the TV HDMI input.
You can't. It doesn't have an HDMI port. The only video output is a VGA port.
Connect the digital audio output of the DVD to the the HRT-6130. The HDMI inputs on the HRT6130 are only pass-through, so audio needs to be connected on another cable. If you have a HDMI output on the DVD player, use a HDMI cable to connect it to the TV.
This is not an HDMI cable. Its for Playstation only. HDMI to DVI would be a cable, but does not support audio. We do not have a way to tap the audio off of an HDMI port.
The PlayStation 3 comes with an A/V Cable for non HDTV reception. If your HDTV has only Component connections then you should purchased the PS3 component cable, otherwise purchase the HDMI cable. The component cable has a number of plugs which must be connected to the HDTV and the HDMI has only a single plug so is the preferred method to connect the PS3 to the HDTV.
To watch Bluray discs in high definition, an HDMI cable is required. However, most Bluray players have analog outputs that can be used if an HDMI port isn't available on a television. However, all analog connections are limited to SD quality.
you can't it doesn't support HDMI output only standard.
The best HDMI cable is not necessary or recommended. Walmart sells Sony PS3 HDMI cables and you to even upgrade to a higher cost and quality Sony HDMI Cable. That is what I did only because Walmart was out of the PS3 HDMI cables when I got the PS3 went to purchase a HDMI cable. I purchased a Flat Sony HDMI cable for $45. You can pay over $100 for an HDMI cable and still not have the best and not be able to tell the reception from another name brand cable sold for $20. I plugged other devices (Sony Camera, Cable Box) into the Sony BR6 HDTV with Belkin HDMI cables and get fine reception.
It does not have an HDMI input and only component cable inputs on the Vbox2 advanced
Only HDTVs have HDMI cable inputs
Very very easy. does your DVD Player ( Home theatre ) have a HDMI cable? If it does, you can just buy an HDMi cable and connect it to Hdmi 1 on your tv and the other end to the Dvd Player and the sound a video will be very crisp. Alternatively, you can use an AV cable ( cable with yellow plugs on the end) and connect it to an AV output on your tv and DVD player. If you are using only the tv's sound this will work, but if you are using a amp, etc. you can connect 2 RCA cables to the tv and the amp for the sound.
No. The PS3 can only have a wired connection with an ethernet cable. The only other connection that is possible is WiFi. The PS3 can only connect to the internet with WiFi or ethernet cable no other type connection is possible. You can not use the HDMI or USB port to connect the PS3 to the internet. I do not believe a router can be connected to the internet cable without a modem or that you can have cable internet without a modem
