No, baking soda is not dangerous to house pets, as long as they are mammals such as cats, dogs, rabbits and ferrets. It would be deadly to a pet cockroach. Even so, one should not feed straight baking soda to one's animals.

No, unless you are using ammonia for the base and harsh acid which is extremely dangerous.
