Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in your Ford Expedition , Bank 2 is the drivers side
Sensor 1 for both sides of the engine are before the catalytic converters ( upstream )
Sensor 2 for both sides of the engine are after the catalytic converters ( downstream )
It depends on which sensor, O2/camshaft,etc. The O2 sensor is a straight metal sensor that is screwed into the exhaust. There is an upstream/bank1-sensor1 or down stream/bank1-sensor2 after the catalytic converter. A camshaft sensor is an L shaped, usually black sensor that is installed into the head closest to the firewall(bank1).
On your Ford F-150 : Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine Sensor 1 is somewhere in the exhaust close to the engine before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter ( upstream )
There are two sensors in the exhaust system and both are located underneath the car. One upstream sensor that is before the catalytic converter (sensor 1, closest to the manifold) and one downstream of the converter (sensor 2). On a diagnostic tester, the code will come up Bank1 Sensor One or Bank1 Sensor Two. There is only one bank and two sensors. Once the sensor has been replaced, disconnect the negative battery terminal for about one minute and reconnect it. If the sensor replaced is installed correctly, the check engine light should go out and remain off.
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine Sensor 1 is in the exhaust pipe ( or end of exhaust manifold ) before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter ( upstream ) Sensor 2 is in the exhaust pipe after the exhaust leaves the catalytic converter ( downstream )
where is the bank1 o2 sensor at and how do i change it please i need your help
Sensor 1 would be UPSTREAM before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter
its the O2 sensor on the driver side above the catalytic bank1 sensor 1 is the passenger side above the catalytic bank2 sensor 2 is O2 below catalytic on driver side bank1 sensor 2 is O2 below catalytic on Passenger side
They should be in the exhaust system close to the engine ( either in the exhaust manifold outlets or the exhaust pipe ) before the exhaust enters the catalytic converters Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine and sensor 1 is the upstream sensor Bank 2 is the driver side of the engine and sensor 1 is the upstream sensor on that side
Bank 1 sensor 1 is upstream bank 1 sensor 2 is downstream
Bank 1 should be the side of the engine cylinder #1 is on.
upstream (front) sensor (before catalytic converter)
Bank one is the same side as cylinder number one. Sensor one is upstream or before the catalytic converter.
